Slim Chickens

Image
This week I visited one of my favorite southern chicken places in Peoria, Slim Chickens.   This is a go to when my friends come down to visit Bradley or a Sunday morning breakfast.   This restaurant is located on the other side of the river in East Peoria on River Street. They are open every single day of the week from 10:30am – 10pm.   Usually when I get food from here I get a secret menu item, chicken tenders tossed in honey barbeque sauce with fries and toast. However when I went this weekend with some friends I got chicken and waffles, since we went earlier in the morning. There are not to many other places in Peoria that offer his or back home in the suburbs so many of my friends think this is kind of a weird thing to get or have never tried it. The first time I had it I thought the same thing and was not sure if it would be good but it is one of the best things they have there. Everything is made to order fresh out of the fryer and waffle iron. ...

Buffalo Wild Wings

This week I visited one of my favorite wings restaurant, Buffalo Wild Wings. This restaurant is located on the other side of the river on West Camp Street in East Peoria. They are open everyday from 11am – 1am and are known for their wings/ sauces and sporting events. I have been to this Buffalo Wild Wings a few times to watch UFC fights and College basketball games. This time I went with my little brother and one of his friends who game down to Peoria for the weekend. When we sat down at our table, the table next to us was just served the ultimate nachos. We had never tried them before and they looked delicious so we decided to order one for ourselves. This blend of nachos come loaded with pico de gallo, lettuce, and queso. This has become my new favorite appetizer. The queso was amazing and the fresh lettuce and pico de gallo made it even better. For the main course I got boneless wings with their honey BBQ sauce and a side of fries. Honey BBQ is my favorite sauc...

Geisert Dining Hall

Image
This week I changed it up and decided to visit Bradley University’s finest, Geisert Dining Hall. This is the largest one of two buffet dining halls here on Bradley’s campus. They are located on North Duryea Place here on Bradley’s Campus. They are open from Monday – Friday from 7:15am – 8:00pm and Saturday – Sunday from 8:30am – 4:00pm. They serve food all day, but offer the most variety during breakfast, lunch and dinner times. The menu features international entrees, grill, deli, salad, and more. I went to dinner here this week and got a mixture of the options for the day at the different stations. This included steamed corn, butter noodles, French fries, bread sticks, honey ham, and chocolate chip cookies. I have been eating here for most of the four years I have been going to Bradley and the food here is eatable but usually not very good. Tonight’s meal was an average night. Most of the food you can tell is premade frozen, and then reheated. Surprisingly the best part...

Le Peep Brunch and Lunch House

Image
This week I visited a new location in Peoria called Le Peep. This is a brunch and lunch house located on North University Street. They offer a variety of pancakes, breakfast items and other lunch sandwich’s. This time I thought I would change it up and order breakfast food for once. My all-time favorite breakfast food is chocolate chip pancakes and bacon. The waiter highly recommended their chocolate chip pancakes, so I went with that with a side of bacon. The pancakes came stacked three high with chocolate chips covering it, and covered in powdered sugar. The bacon was cooked to perfection just the way I like it. After digging into the pancakes I also found they had chocolate chips inside the pancakes as well. Overall this was a great experience and great food. I will definitely be coming back when my friends and family come to visit. Overall I would give this 5 Le Peeps out of 5 Le Peeps.
