Obed and Isaac’s Microbrewery and Eatery
This week I visited Obed and Isaac’s Microbrewery and Eatery, located at 321 NE Madison Avenue, Peoria IL. They are located right down the street from OSF hospital. They are open from 11am-11:30pm every day of the week. This microbrewery is very unique in that the building it is in used to be a local church before being sold and transformed into a brewery and restaurant. This is unlike any restaurant I have been to, especially in the Peoria area. The inside of the building has been updated and tables and a bar have been added, but the stain glass windows and artwork are still the same from the church. The stained glass is truly breathtaking on sunny days when it is fully illuminated. Aside from being a very cool building, they have some really good food. I have eaten here a few times and have tried a few different menu items, such as their burgers, flatbread pizzas, and German pretzels. This time I thought I would try something new and ordered their chicken and waffles. This is a fresh waffle and a massive piece of hand-breaded chicken. They serve it with a house blended whiskey syrup and butter. This was a very good dish and you can taste that it is made to order with fresh ingredients. Event the whiskey syrup was a different but unique taste to it. Overall I thought this was another very delicious dish here the only thing I did not like about it was that there is way too much chicken. The chicken is about the same size as the whole waffle, but other than that I would give this 4 out of 5 visited Obed and Isaac’s!

I love Obed and Isaac’s Microbrewery and Eatery! I have had poor service every time I have been, but the food is great. If they can be a little faster on sitting people I would have an overall better experience.
