Granite City Food & Brewery
This week I visited Granite City Food & Brewery, located
on Conference Center Drive in East Peoria. They are open Monday – Thursday
11am-11pm, Friday and Saturday 11am-12am. I have been to this location once
before with my family a few years ago, and thought I would go again for my blog
review. This time I ordered a flat bread barbecue chicken pizza. This is my all
time favorite pizza and I am always looking for places that have it since there
are always so few. The pizza was very good with a tasty blend of cheese and a sweet homemade barbecue sauce. I was going to make my post about the pizza but, then the
table next to us was served a cookie skillet with ice cream. Naturally I
ordered one for my friends and I. This turned out to be a great decision. It
was served in a big iron skillet fresh out of the oven, with an ice-cold scoop
of ice cream, and drizzled in caramel sauce. The cookie had big melted chocolate
chunks and small chopped nuts baked inside of it. This dish was amazing and now
I am wishing I would have done desert reviews. Over if you are ever at Granite City Food & Brewery save room for the skillet cookie. I would give this 5
Granite Cities out of 5.

This place sounds really good and might go there this weekend. The barbecue chicken flatbread pizza sounded good enough reason to go and give this place a try but the description of this cookie skillet sounds to good to be true!
ReplyDeleteI've been to Granite City only a few times. I'm from Peoria, so I've heard several reviews from different groups of people I've been around. Personally, I've had some great food items and some horrible food items there. I would say to avoid any of the pasta they have there. The only time I've gotten pasta, it came out cold and the noodles seemed very dry. However, I have had some type of flatbread there (can't remember which one) and it was fantastic! Just this past summer I was in a play around here and we had a cast party at Granite City, so it was super nice to have a few cocktails out on their patio next to the river. Overall, I would tell people to give this place a try, but I would just let them know there is some small chance for disappointment.
ReplyDeleteI have only ever visited Granite City for breakfast (which was delicious), but am definitely going to go back to try out that cookie! Thanks for the recommendation!
